The Samsung 45W USB-C Super Fast Charging Set is Samsung’s official EP-TA845 adapter — the highest-output Samsung wall charger in the standard consumer range, and the charger required to achieve 45W Super Fast Charging 2.0 on compatible Samsung Galaxy devices. Samsung’s Super Fast Charging 2.0 protocol uses USB Power Delivery 3.0 with Programmable Power Supply (PPS), which allows the charger and device to negotiate exact voltage and current levels in small increments rather than fixed steps — reducing heat generation inside the device and improving charging efficiency across the battery’s charge curve. The 45W adapter is backwards compatible with the full Samsung charging tier stack: devices that support only 25W Super Fast Charging receive 25W, and any device that supports standard USB-C PD is charged at the appropriate power level. As a USB-C PD 3.0 charger, the EP-TA845 also charges non-Samsung USB-C devices — MacBook Air, iPad Pro, Google Pixel, iPhone 15 and later — at the wattage those devices can accept. Supplied in bulk packaging, brand new, with USB-C to USB-C cable included.

45W · Super Fast Charging 2.0
Samsung’s Maximum Standard Wired Speed
45W Super Fast Charging 2.0 is Samsung’s highest standard wired charging tier, introduced with the Galaxy Note 10+ in 2019 and extended across the S-series Ultra, Z Fold, and Z Flip lines since then. The protocol uses USB PD 3.0 PPS with output voltages of 9V, 15V and 20V at up to 3A via fixed PDO steps, plus a PPS range of 3.3–21V with finer current control for the direct-charging phase. On the Galaxy S23 Ultra, S24 Ultra and S25 Ultra, 45W charging delivers approximately 65% charge in 30 minutes from flat — roughly double the speed of a standard 15W charger over that window. On the Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6, 45W is also the rated maximum. On Galaxy Tab S8, S9, and S10 series, 45W is the tablet’s maximum charge rate. The EP-TA845 is also the charger Samsung bundles with the Galaxy S25 Ultra, S24 Ultra and Z Fold series — buying the adapter standalone or as a set gives the same charge rate as the charger that ships in the premium Samsung box, at a lower cost.

PD 3.0 PPS · Universal
One Charger for Samsung and Everything Else
USB Power Delivery 3.0 with PPS is the most capable USB charging standard currently in widespread use — supported by Samsung, Apple, Google, OnePlus, Xiaomi, Sony and virtually every USB-C device made since 2020. The EP-TA845 is certified for PD 3.0 PPS, which means it negotiates the highest available charging speed with any PD-compatible device. MacBook Air (M-series) charges at up to 30W from this adapter — not at 45W because the MacBook requires the 20V/2.25A output PDO, and the MacBook’s USB-C port accepts up to approximately 30W from single-port USB-C adapters in practice. iPad Pro and iPad Air USB-C models charge at their rated 18W–20W via USB-C. Google Pixel 8 and 9 series charge at up to 30W PPS. iPhone 15, 16 Pro and Pro Max charge at up to 27W USB-C PD. For users who charge multiple device types — Samsung phone, iPad, MacBook — the EP-TA845 replaces multiple single-purpose chargers with one compact adapter that handles the full range at the highest speed each device supports.

Charging Speed Per Device
What Speed Does My Samsung Get?
Samsung’s Super Fast Charging 2.0 at 45W: Galaxy Note 10+, Note 10+ 5G, Note 20 Ultra, S20 Ultra, S21 Ultra, S22 Ultra, S23 Ultra, S24 Ultra, S25 Ultra, Z Fold 2 through 6, Z Flip 3 through 6, Galaxy Tab S8+, S8 Ultra, S9+, S9 Ultra, S9 FE, S10+, S10 Ultra. Super Fast Charging at 25W: Galaxy S21, S21+, S22, S22+, S23, S23+, S24, S24+, S25, S25+, Note 10, Note 10 5G, S10 5G, A80, A90 5G — these devices cap at 25W regardless of the charger’s 45W capability. Standard 15W Adaptive Fast Charging: Galaxy A series and older S-series phones that do not support Super Fast Charging — the adapter delivers 15W to these devices. For non-Samsung USB-C devices: the adapter supplies USB-C PD at the appropriate wattage the device requests, up to the adapter’s 45W ceiling. The adapter never overpowers a device — PD negotiation means each device draws only what its charging circuit requests.

Right choice if you…
✔ Own a Galaxy Note 10+, S20–S25 Ultra, Z Fold/Flip, or Tab S8/S9 and want the full 45W charging speed

✔ Want one charger that handles Samsung, MacBook, iPad and iPhone at each device’s maximum USB-C PD speed

✔ Need a replacement or spare for the charger that originally came with your Galaxy S or Z series device

✔ Want official Samsung quality — not a third-party adapter using the EP-TA845 model number

Consider something else if…
✖ You only own a Galaxy S21, S22, S23 base or + — those models cap at 25W; the Samsung 25W adapter is sufficient and more compact

✖ You need to charge a MacBook Pro at full 67W or 96W — you need a dedicated 67W or 96W USB-C PD adapter for that

✖ You need a dual-port charger — the EP-TA845 is single-port USB-C only

Frequently Asked Questions

Does my Samsung Galaxy get 45W from this charger?
Only if your device supports Super Fast Charging 2.0. Galaxy S20–S25 Ultra, Note 10+, Note 20 Ultra, Z Fold 2–6, Z Flip 3–6, and Tab S8+/S9+ and above are 45W compatible. The S21, S22, S23, S24, S25 base and Plus models cap at 25W — this charger delivers 25W to those devices, not 45W. Check Samsung’s spec page for your model to confirm which charging tier it supports.

Will this charge a MacBook or iPad?
Yes. The EP-TA845 is a USB PD 3.0 charger — it works with any USB-C PD device. MacBook Air (M-series) accepts up to approximately 30W from a single-port USB-C charger. iPad Pro USB-C models charge at their supported rate (18–20W). iPhone 15 and 16 series charge at up to 27W USB-C PD. The charger will not exceed what each device requests — it is safe to use across all USB-C devices.

What does bulk packaging mean?
Brand new and unused — the adapter and cable are genuine Samsung components, identical to retail stock. Supplied without an individual retail box. Bulk packaging is how Samsung supplies accessories to business and distribution channels — the product inside is exactly the same.

What is the difference between Super Fast Charging and Super Fast Charging 2.0?
Super Fast Charging (25W) uses USB PD 3.0 at fixed voltage steps. Super Fast Charging 2.0 (45W) adds PPS — Programmable Power Supply — which allows the charger and phone to negotiate voltage and current in fine increments, enabling higher peak power and more efficient battery-direct charging that reduces heat in the phone during the fast-charge phase. This adapter supports both tiers and delivers each to the appropriate device automatically.
